Freedom, Celebration, Birthday, Family, & Fun...

We had a great 4th of July weekend celebrating our freedom, family, and Daddy's Birthday!  We enjoyed Saturday afternoon with some friends and meeting their newest little addition Blake!  The twins were all about the baby, it was so cute!  That evening we had some fun with some more friends at a get-together filled with food, fun and fireworks to end the evening!  Mason was a little unsure about it but Izabella loved it!

Happy Birthday to an amazing husband and father, we love you!

What did Daddy want for his birthday?!?!  Nothing more than spending the day together as a family and his favorite baseball team!  It was a great summer day, a little on the sticky side but nothing that would stop us from celebrating an amazing man's birthday watching his Minnesota Twins take on and beat the Milwaukee Brewers 9-7 and also witness Jim Thome hit his 595th home run!

And if the game wasn't enough, while visiting some friends in their suite we got to meet and have a picture taken with Kent Hrbek!  Not sure if this smile is bigger than when he caught his fish?!?  Haha! 

So if that wasn't exciting enough, well this picture of Mason watching the game in the suite was the last before our little incident with our baby girl who lost her grip on a railing and hit her head on a cement slab.  She fortunately was crying but as I picked her up blood was pouring from the cut on her forehead so it was a little scary at first.  Once we got her to lay down and clean her up we realized that it was just a bad cut, no broken nose, teeth, etc.  We had her checked out by the EMT's at Target Field once we saw her cut was one that would need more attention.  They unfortunately, were unable to do anything more for us there so we had to take her to the Children's Hospital ER where we had to have 3 stitches...

She was a trooper and as you can see, just fine as she is all smiles!  The wrap around her head is holding a numbing medication in place over her cut.  She had to wear that for an hour so in the meantime Mason thought he would be the patient too!  He was a very good brother and stayed by his sister the whole time!

We survived and she is on the mend!  Have to admit though that we didn't think she would be our first one to get stitches!  But it couldn't have gone any smoother and she was a good girl the whole week after with letting Mommy & Daddy clean her "owie" and put medicine on until that following Friday when she was able to get the stitches out.

After a very exciting birthday celebration, in more ways than one, we relaxed on the 4th of July and just enjoyed our freedom to walk around our neighborhood and make a stop for some coffee!

It couldn't have been a more perfect evening for a spectacular fireworks show...and being with the ones you love.  God bless America!
